Built for Australian Conditions
Hevea Brasiliensis (Rubberwood) is a fast-growing plantation hardwood with density
and strength comparable to White Oak. It is an environmentally responsible alternative
to slow-growing native and imported hardwoods—delivering outstanding performance while reducing pressure on precious resources.
At The Flooring Lab, we use a Specially Formulated Hevea Core across all premium Engineered Timber collections, including Organic, Forever, FloorArt, Eucalypt, and Adore.
This creates multi-layer flooring that is exceptionally stable, strong, and durable—engineered to perform in Australia’s variable climate, from humidity and temperature extremes to air-conditioned interiors and underfloor heating.
Hevea Core – Strength, Stability & Sustainability
Hevea Brasiliensis is a renewable plantation hardwood valued for its natural density and resilience. Engineered as the core of our flooring, Hevea delivers superior dimensional stability, minimising expansion, contraction, cupping, and gapping—ideal for Australian homes across coastal, urban, and regional environments.
The enhanced stability of the Hevea Core also allows for wider plank formats, up to 240mm
in collections like FloorArt, supporting contemporary, open-plan interiors without
compromising performance.

Engineered for Real Australian Living
Unlike Solid Timber, flooring with a Hevea Core is designed to acclimatise naturally
after installation, adapting to its environment for a precise, long-term fit.
This engineered construction ensures reliable performance under fluctuating humidity,
seasonal temperature changes, and indoor climate control. For added peace of mind,
our Timber is treated with natural mineral-based protectants to guard against borers and fungi
—Completely safe for families, children, and pets.
